For us musicians who can only navigate ourselves around only one instrument, seeing others being able to play more than one at an expert level, and sing on top of it; we get very envious. One of these musicians is Joe Bonamassa’s long-time friend and man behind the sax, Paulie Cerra.
Not only is Paulie Cerra a top-notch experienced saxophone player, but he also is a prolific songwriter, singer and pianist. Over his length career, Cerra has become a go-to sax player for many blues bands, including Lucky Peterson, Little Milton, and of course, Joe Bonamassa. You can hear his expert playing skills on a multitude of Bonamassa’s tracks as well as on his live tours. He also branches out to other genre including jazz, soul, and gospel.
But, lately Cerra has taken the horn out of his mouth and sat down behind the keys, showing that he has a few tricks up his sleeve. Cerra uses his baseline of rock and blues to deliver a concoction comprised of country, soul, gospel, blues, and everything in between.
