Rebecca and Megan Lovell are blues-loving sisters from Georgia who have always had music running through their veins. As young teens, they started an Americana group called the Lovell Sisters with yet another Lovell sister, Jessica. After about 5 years, many tour dates, and a few festivals, Jessica decided to call the band quits after getting engaged and returning to college. Instead of disbanding all together, Megan and Rebecca decided to remain as a duo and started the current eclectic blues band Larkin Poe.
Now referred to as “the little sister of the Allman Brothers,” Larkin Poe are a powerful female-led rock, folk, and blues duo who light up the stage and audience’s faces every time they perform. The name Larkin Poe is taken from their great-great-great grandfather. They are also supposed descendants of the author and poet Edgar Allan Poe. Although, his writing is a tad darker than Larkin Poe’s music.
Eight years after the band’s inception and they have garnered an impressive following all over the world and aim to keep pushing forward. If you were wondering what a fresh take on the blues sounds like, look no further than this incredible duo!
