Eric Bibb, like many other musicians, comes from a very musical family. Perhaps most well know is his grandfather, John Lewis, founder and pianist for the jazz group The Modern Jazz Quartet. Always having a desire to travel abroad, he left for Paris, France at age 19. In France Eric met Mickey Baker, the American guitarist who would later peak Eric’s interest in blues guitar. Now, Eric has been playing for about five decades and released thirty-six albums as well as continuing to tour and appear on radio and TV shows. Bibb has stayed true to who and what originally inspired him: Taj Mahal and reemphasizing the roots of acoustic blues music.
