Stevie Ray Vaughan, Duke Robillard & Kim Wilson
Stevie Ray Vaughan, Duke Robillard, Kim Wilson and other awesome musicians perform for a Charity Benefit in Austin, Texas, 1987. Photojournalist Glenn Hill captures the moment during a Santa Benefit in Austin while there covering the event. Let’s just say it is quite a surprise and rare treat for those that were in attendance. According to Duke Robillard, Jimmie Vaughan was out of town filming Great Balls of Fire, so Duke and Stevie are asked to fill in. Furthermore, the band is Kim Wilson (vocals/harp), Stevie Ray & Duke Robillard (guitar), Preston Hubbard (bass – RIP), Reese Wynans (keyboards) & Fran Christina (drums). Duke, Fran & Preston were all early members of Roomful of Blues, the Rhode Island jump blues legends.

What a special story for Glenn Hill to share on his YouTube channel for music fans to enjoy. Furthermore, to be the only person there covering this event. Kudos to you for capturing this musical moment. You can honestly say that he was in the right place at the right time. Likewise to the amazing artists that were performing at this special event. It’s some serious transcendental playing on everyone’s part. Enjoy!
