t’s that time again folks! In about a month, the fourth annual Keeping The Blues Alive blues cruise will set sail. It is the biggest and most spectacular blues jam on the open ocean, jam packed with killer musicians, great vibes, and plenty of hot… sun. Just to prove how much fun these cruises actually are, here is a picture of blues guitar wizard Joe Bonamassa with the master of blues lap steel Robert Randolph.
Randolph was a featured artist on the first and second blues cruises and quite literally rocked the boat during his amazing sets. Any Robert Randolph album you can get your hand on will not disappoint. But, the 2017 album Got Soul displays Randolph and his family band on fire, delivering tasty blues treats and soul flare.
His live stage performance is absolutely mesmerizing as he manipulates the pedal steel in mind blowing ways. This particular show on the very first KTBA cruise was very special and was a full-on soul and blues jam with a bit of gospel thrown in.
All of the musicians were on the top of their game and their love for music couldn’t help but shine through. This is what these cruises are all about, spreading the love of blues and having as much fun as possible.
Look out for great performances from the 2018 cruise that features amazing musicians such as Black Country Communion, Ana Popovic, Marcus King, and many more!
As always, for more great still blues shots, there is only one place to go.
