Six String Andrew – Video of The Week!

This week in we decided to highlight a young musician that goes by the moniker of  “Six String Andrew”. Furthermore, this young artist has been playing for a while and if you look on YouTube, you can see all the amazing musicians he’s been sharing the stage with!

At age 8 he played on stage with Cheap Trick, along with Buddy Guy, Claudette King (daughter of B.B.). As well as Marshall Tucker Band. Besides sharing the stage, he also makes an appearance at the King Biscuit Blues Festival as the first act of the day. No pressure for this kid! He’s good to go!

How his musical career starts!

Andrew Sullivan met his music teacher at an Alice Cooper concert when he was six. By the time he was 11, he’s shared the stage with “Cheap Trick”, performs with “Blues Oyster Cult” and “Gary Hoey”, and many more! He plays keyboards, drums, and trumpet, but guitar is his favorite. “They all have different tones, and they’re fun to play, and it’s fun to have a lot cause I can experiment with different sounds.”

For example, now age 15, check out his cover of Lead Belly’s “Take This Hammer” below.

So, as you can see, nowadays the blues is being embraced by younger generations more than ever. Kudos to his parents for allowing him to find his path in music! Andrew also had the honor of performing with Miss Ida B with The Legendary Mr. Buddy Guy on the Rock Legends Cruise VII 2/17/19. Check out his performance below with Buddy Guy and check him out social media!
