Samantha Fish – Blues Highlights

Samantha Fish. The genre-bending guitar phenom, singer, and songwriter Samantha Fish releases a new video for “Crowd Control”. The soulful and sultry live rendition of the song, which appears on her eagerly anticipated new album Faster (September 10). Giving, fans a preview of what they can expect to see before she goes on tour.

Besides Samantha Fish, the band includes bassist Ron Johnson, drummer Sarah Tomek, and keyboardist Matt Wade. Later this month, Fish and the band will be out on the road. “I’m really excited to bring these songs to the stage,” says Fish. “This is just the first taste. The Faster Tour reaches the UK in early 2022, including a headline show at London’s prestigious O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Which is February 3rd.

“’Crowd Control’ is a song about growing up,” explains Fish. “Dealing with failure, vulnerability, and coming to terms with the world and yourself. When I wrote it, it felt like a true rootsy, Americana song. [Producer] Martin Kierszenbaum added keys and modern synth textures that really brought it back around to this plaintive mood.”

Faster is the follow-up to 2019’s Kill or Be Kind, as well as marking Fish’s first collaboration with Kierszenbaum. Furthermore, who co-wrote eight of the album’s 12 new songs and helps the guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Helping Fish to refine her sound and strike out into bold new sonic territory.

Over the course of her career as an award-winning artist, Samantha Fish has brought extraordinary power to her self-expression. Capturing her inner world in combustible riffs, visceral rhythms, and spine-tingling vocal work. On Faster, she imbues even more intensity into her electrifying brand of blues/rock-and-roll. Accompanying Fish on the recording is multi-instrumentalist Kierszenbaum, legendary drummer Josh Freese (Guns N’ Roses, Nine Inch Nails, The Replacements).

Along with bassist Diego Navaira of The Last Bandoleros. As a result, it’s a singular body of work both irresistibly galvanizing and emotionally raw.
