Memphis And His Mean Piano

Memphis And His Mean Piano – Here’s something that will put some pep in your step every time you hear it! Plus, it’s one of our favorites from Memphis Slim. Taking place at the European Jazz Prisma circa 1963. It also features Matt Guitar Murphy on guitar. Can it get any better than this? Check it out and you’ll see what we mean!

This performance is a smooth mixture of Chicago blues and early jazz in its finest! With Memphis Slim, being an American blues pianist, singer, and composer. He would take the blues to new heights and then take them around the block once again just for good measure! He’s the ultimate performer! Taking you down avenues that members of the band and listeners would never consider going. Furthermore, he’s an amazing musician with so much soul! Covering everything from Chicago Blues, jump blues and even R&B. He’s that great!

Then we have Matt Guitar Murphy who’s also a very smooth guitar player with his amazing tone and his work with Howlin’ Wolf, Little Junior Parker, Ike Turner, Chuck Berry, Along with Koko Taylor, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Buddy Guy, Etta James, Otis Rush, Willie Dixon and also being a Blues Brother! He’s the ultimate sideman for many blues musicians and singer. As for this video, sit back and enjoy!
