McKinley “Muddy” Morganfield

McKinley “Muddy” Morganfield. Not only an amazing guitarist but also a master of the blues! Here we have him performing live with the Muddy Waters Blues Band. Furthermore, its live at Westfalenhalle Dortmund on 12/10/78.  Muddy Waters boisterous vocals and over the top charisma on stage fascinates the audience. Needless to say, his guitar playing on the Fender Telecaster comes into full effect with his slow blues solos. As a result, the guitar is slow and steady, and the groove starts taking over the performance.

The Setlist

Starting off this amazing performance is I’m You’re I’m Your Hoochie Coochie Man, Soon Forgotten; Baby Please Don’t Go. Also, They Call Me Muddy Waters; Walkin’ Thru The Park; Country Boy (All Night Long) Kansas City; Caledonia. In addition to Muddy we have on piano, Pinetop Perkins on Piano Jerry Portnoy on Harmonica, Luther “Guitar, Jr.” Johnson on guitar.  Likewise, we have Bob Margolin on Guitar Calvin Jones on Bass and Willie “Big Eyes” Smith on Drums! Quite the dream team of musicians helping him out.  Obviously, at the time it is being recorded for a later release so you may find it on-line somewhere.  In the meantime, sit back, relax and checking out this iconic performance!
