Jimmy Barnes – Photo of The Week

Jimmy Barnes. An artist that is the heart and soul of Australian rock & roll. Conjuring up thoughts of rock music at an ear-splitting volume, and of soul standards given a unique reading. Jimmy has been through it all, and literally lives to tell the tales. He’s sold more records in Australia than any other local rock & roll artist. He has seventeen #1 albums here – more than The Beatles – and for over 40 years he has delivered some of our most intense and iconic live performances. He is truly in a league of his own. As well as father of Mahalia Barnes who is a powerhouse singer in her own right. She’s also a singer and back-up singer for Joe Bonamassa.

The photographer captures this picture of Jimmy Barnes at the Hard Rock Calling music festival in Hyde Park, London on 7/13/2012. Even more, they’re performing their hit songs Flame Trees and Khe Sanh. The second video is also from this festival but on a different day. Lewis Whyld captures this great photo live from the festival.

Hard Rock Calling Music Festival

Calling Festival (formerly Hyde Park Calling and Hard Rock Calling) was an annual music festival, formerly held in Hyde Park, London, from 2006 until 2012, and from 2013 in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. In September 2013, Hard Rock International announced that they would no longer be sponsoring the festival. However, the event returned in 2014 and 2015 under the name Calling Festival at the Clapham Common. Not really sure if any other variations of this festival are still going on but it sounds like it would be a pretty rad festival to attend.
