KTBA Sponsors Keyboard Lab Program!
ORLANDO, FL – Thanks to your donations, Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation donated a classroom set of keyboards to Central Florida Leadership Academy!
“After having only had a music program for one year, my students have impressed me with their willingness to try new things and to see things to successful fruition,” states Mr. Cauley, the band director at CFLA. “We have just finished our first year together with a bang performing two amazing productions of ‘A Chorus Line’ to sold out audiences, having two very successful choir concerts, creating four part harmonies in our music theory class and virtually traveling around the globe sampling music and culture from the people that share this Earth with us.
It would be an understatement to say that the students enjoyed having music as a part of their lives this year and they have shown incredible amounts of excitement for the next year and the possibilities that it holds for them.
After diving head first into music, the students have demonstrated a desire to continue swimming further, creating in themselves an insatiable thirst for music to fuel their drive forward.
I want to do my best to help them find the musical discoveries that they are seeking and hope to create a keyboarding class, a percussion ensemble and a specialized concert performance just as they have requested.”
Thanks to the donations of Joe Bonamassa fans and music lovers like you, a classroom set of keyboards will be delivered to this school just in time for the start of the school year.
“These thirteen keyboards will go a long way in our music classroom. Our students have completed their first year with music in their school and have requested that we start a keyboarding class as a way to further their knowledge in practicing music. The keyboards will be used in a class setting but will also be used individually for students wishing to practice vocal parts for choir or musicals as they see the need for it. Music is quickly becoming an integral part of our students lives and helps them exercise their creativity freely. I know that these keyboards will be able to start our students off on a musical journey that will lead to many more great adventures such as special musical events, musicals, talent shows and more! The students desire more music classes and I hope that we will be able to bring them to them with help here.”
Mr. Cauley expresses his gratitude:
Dear Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation, Inc.,
Thank you so much for helping us acheive greatness through music at our school! I can not put into words how much this means to not only myself and the program we are building here but to the students as well! We started this music program a year ago and the students have been begging for a keyboarding class. Due to tight budgets, we didn’t see this as a reality for a while but thanks to your kindness, our dream has become a reality! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.
