KTBA Donates Keyboards to High School Music Program!

DARLINGTON, SC – Thanks to your donations, Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation donated three new 61-key Yamaha keyboards to the music program at Darlington High School!

The Yamaha PSR Keyboard packages are special because Yamaha does an exceptional job at producing instruments for educational purposes and matching educational budgets (or lack thereof).  However, these units are fully warrantied and come with stands and accessories so they are ready for action, right out of the box!

Mrs. Hilton, the Chorus teacher at Darlington High School describes her classroom as “eager learners” that are easy to work with.

“They want to know so much but are limited with the number of supplies that are available to them,” she describes. “The concert choir was able to compete in the Carowinds Music Festival last year. They have high expectations for themselves and what they want to achieve. They understand that they cannot get there without hard work. That’s what makes them so special and an awesome group of students to work with.”

On hundred and thirty students are shepherded through Mrs. Hilton’s music classes, and all of them will have an opportunity to take advantage of the new pianos.

As the program grows, Mrs. Hilton knows that the kids will benefit tremendously from the new instruments.

  •  The piano keyboards will help students with understanding how notes and music symbols work.
  • The piano keyboards will also help students with with hearing scales and notes, which is needed for sight singing.
  • Students will understand chords and the difference between major and minor.
  • They will help students stay engaged in the learning process.

Thanks to Joe Bonamassa fans and music lovers like you, music will continue to be a productive use of the students’ time and will build relationships and memories that will last a lifetime.

Mrs. Hilton expresses her gratitude:

Dear Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation, Inc.,

Thank you so much for your interest in this project and my students. My students will greatly benefit from your support and will gain the valuable skills needed to appreciate and learn the art of music and singing. Hands on learning is imperative at any age. Thanks for your support!!!

With gratitude,
Mrs. Hilton

Every week, Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation donations to music programs all over the country! With the funds raised every day, instruments, sheet music, libraries, and music supplies will be distributed amongst the classrooms that need it most.
