KTBA Supports Jazz Band Program at 100 Academy of Excellence

Las Vegas, NV – Thanks to your donations, Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation donated a new Fender Jazz Bass to students at 100 Academy of Excellence!

Every week, Keeping the Blues Alive makes a donation to a school in need of music supplies and instruments.  This week, Mr. Acosta receives this bass guitar for the musical growth of his jazz band program.

100 Academy of Excellence is a Title I school in Clark County, Nevada.  Title I schools receive financial assistance to local agencies and schools with high percentages of low-income families.  The expectation from receiving these funds lies in the ability of those students to meet the state academic standards.  These Title I budgets are very limited and therefore, music and arts programs are mistakenly classified as a luxury and not a necessity.
