Dave Matthews – While this black and white photo captures Dave Matthews playing his electric guitar on stage during a show. Ironically, this is where you will usually find him. Somewhere in the world on-stage performing to to a massive amount of fans that continue to follow him and his band in droves. Furthermore, they’ve been bringing their eclectic mix of acoustic-jam-rock to audiences since their formation in the 1990s.  

Making A Difference

Besides fronting one of the most well-known rock jam bands around. Matthews founded the Bama Works Fund in 1999 in order to bring awareness to environmentalism. The ideas is to focus primarily on their hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia.

But, since the company’s inception, it has spread all over the world and donated 8.5 million dollars to various charities.  By putting on concerts and raising awareness, the band is spreading knowledge of global warming and the importance of green initiatives.

Solo Projects

Some Devil is the debut (and so far only) solo album by musician Dave Matthews. It released September 23, 2003. It’s been certified platinum by the RIAA, signifying over a million copies sold. The album also features several guest musicians, including long-time Dave Matthews Band collaborator guitarist Tim Reynolds and Phish front-man and guitarist Trey Anastasio.

The album’s first single, “Gravedigger,” won a Grammy Award in 2004. Some Devil is recorded at Studio Litho in Seattle, Washington. And it’s produced by Stephen Harris, who previously worked with the Dave Matthews Band on their 2002 album Busted Stuff.
