Clarence Gatemouth Brown – Honky-Tonk

Clarence Gatemouth Brown – Honky-Tonk

So, the recording takes place in Austin and around 1996, it’s released as a CD/DVD set.  In addition, there are wonderful solos including saxophone, piano (a worthy Joe Krown) and, of course, Gate displaying his “talking guitar” and “talking violin” leaving a lasting impression. After watching this video, one thing I can appreciate about it is that Brown allows his musicians to shine on the stage as well. Another thing is that he just doesn’t perform one style of music. Instead, he does Big Band, Swing, Texas style swing blues and even country. And he can also play a mean fiddle! We recommend that you also check out his videos where he’s performing with Roy Clark. Enjoy!
