Celso Salim Band – Soulful Blues
Led by Brazilian guitarist, singer, and songwriter Celso Salim, not only do you get a variety of musical styles. But you also get a band that puts their heart and soul into all they do. Likewise, you get hints of blues, country, jazz, rock, and soul, which gives their music a more contemporary blues sound with one foot still planted in the past. Celso, having an established career, he’s one of the busiest and most respected Blues artists in Southern California.
Celso Salim – Starting Out
At the age of twelve, Celso starts to get serious about playing the guitar. Furthermore, he listens to his first blues album and becomes inspired and starts learning the blues! For years, he studies blues artists such as Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Freddie King, BB King, and Johnny Winter.
Shortly after he starts checking out artists from the 60s and & 70s artists such as the Allman Brothers Band, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton. At age 17, Celso moves to the U.S. for the first time, spending 3 years studying music and performing live shows. During this period, he’s exposed to other genres like Soul, Jazz, Folk, and Country. During this time, would later have great influence on Celso’s music.
He has toured Europe and opened for legendary artist B. B. King as well as Deep Purple and John Hammond. He has also toured with blues man Larry McCray and performed with Blues legends Magic Slim and Willie “Big Eyes” Smith (Muddy Waters drummer).

Although Celso Salim is quite a force on his own, he has a band that always right on point as well. Featuring Rafael Cury: vocals, percussion, Max Butler: keyboards, vocals, Mike Hightower: bass, vocals and Lynn Coulter: drums, vocals.
