Bobby Rush. After decades of tearing up the chitlin’ circuit on a nightly basis with his sweaty, no-holds-barred funk fests. Bobby has thoroughly broke through to the mainstream. While also winning a long-overdue 2017 Grammy for his spectacular album “Porcupine Meat.” Also, he’s consistently touring the globe as a headliner. Furthermore, Bobby’s newest album “Sitting on Top of the Blues” from his own Deep Rush imprint promises to further spread the news. Whew! He’s been keeping himself busy!

What news is that you ask? Well, only that this iconic legend who is well past 80 years of age (even if his stratospheric energy level belies the calendar). He’s not showing any signs of stopping from being bigger, badder and bolder than ever. In December 2019 – January 2020, his album gets a Grammy Award nod for “Best Traditional Blues Album” and for a “Blues Music Award” for “Best Soul Blues Album”.
