Most eighteen-year-old girls are thinking about what college they want to go to, what their next tweet or Instagram post will be, or what their weekend plans are. Most kids that young don’t even have a plan for their future, I know I didn’t. Ally Venable however does not fit the mold of your typical high schooler. Instead of plying on her phone, she’d rather pick up a guitar and play the blues.

Venable has been surrounded by music most of her life and has been singing since before she could even remember. Venable got early experience performing alongside her church’s choir and learned basic musical principles she has carried along with her throughout her career.

Ally Venable is a Texas native and has been exposing Lone Star music fans to her fresh blues-rock style. By looking at her cover photos you can tell this young maven has treaded behind blues goddesses like Samantha Fish and Ana Popovic who are becoming icons for young women who are interested yet hesitant to enter a competitive male-dominated scene. Armed with her sequined dresses, howling rock vocals, and stinging blues riffs, Ally really “packs a punch” and will be hard not to notice.

The young superstar has just released her second album Puppet Show that is a straight rockin’ record all the way through. It features fellow Texan blues rocker Lance Lopez who has been a major mentor and a big supporter of her band who has said “Ally has been working very hard to become the young Guitar Slingin’ Senorita she is. It’s been such a pleasure to share my knowledge with her and watch her grow!” She picked up the East Texas Female Guitarist of the Year Award in both 2014 and 2015 and has surrounded herself with top-notch musicians in her band that help to bring out the best in this young and rising star.
