Blues – the unique American art form, has evolved over the past 100 years from African American poetry, spirituals and work-songs into a thriving music movement. In fact, many genres of music can trace their roots back to the Blues. Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation fosters and highlights the genre’s inspirational history through Joe’s personal experience and growth within the Blues/Rock community over the past 20+ years.
Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation fuels the passion for music by funding programs and scholarships for students and teachers who possess the desire, but lack the resources or access to achieve their potential within the music industry. Through generous corporate sponsorships by industry powerhouses Ernie Ball Strings, Guitar Center, J&R Adventures, and donors like YOU!, KTBA has been able to fund music projects affecting over 30,000 students since 2013. We accomplish this by making weekly donations to music projects in schools all over the country, and soon… the world!
In the public education sector, we instill a message that music is a critical asset to any public education curriculum by spreading awareness to the global community about the benefits of S.T.E.M. to S.T.E.A.M. integration and the positive return of investing in the Arts as a whole.
Finally, we preach the message that although music is an innate and accessible outlet for creativity, realizing your dreams in this industry requires discipline, perseverance, and extreme dedication.
