A New King on the Scene

This moment in blues history features blues rock and southern soul torch-bearer Marcus King performing live on February 8, 2017 at the annual Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea music festival. The young singer, songwriter, and all around badass guitarist is the founder of The Marcus King Band, who was signed to Warren Haynes Evil Teen Records label in 2015. The blues virtuoso started playing guitar at just seven years old and by his early teens was touring with his bluesmen father Marvin King. The Marcus King Band recently released their third studio album, Carolina Confessions, in October of last year. The band’s fiery blues chops blended with southern rock, complete with horns and percussion, give them a sound uniquely their own. At just 22 years old, King’s raw talent, soulful gritty vocals, and stunning shred work on the guitar have made The Marcus King Band a force to be reckoned with.
